How Safe Circles Make Group Dining Stress-Free
June 10, 2026 · 2 min read
Hosting a dinner when your guests have multiple dietary restrictions used to mean hours of research, frantic label reading, and the lingering anxiety of "did I miss something?" Safe Circles changes that.
What Is a Safe Circle?
A Safe Circle is a shared group inside Purelyst. Every member adds their own dietary profile — allergens, intolerances, preferences — and the circle's scans are automatically checked against everyone at once.
When you scan a product for the circle, you get a verdict for each member:
- ✅ Safe — no conflicts for this person
- ⚠️ Caution — contains something they try to avoid
- ❌ Not safe — contains a confirmed allergen for this person
Setting Up Your First Circle
- Open the Circles tab in Purelyst
- Tap + New → Create Circle
- Name it (e.g., "Family Dinner" or "Road Trip")
- Invite members by sharing your QR code or a link
Members join with their own Purelyst accounts. Their dietary data stays private — you only see their verdict, not their full profile.
Real-World Use Cases
Family grocery runs — One parent does the shopping. Every scan checks the whole family's profiles simultaneously.
Travel groups — Hotel breakfast buffet? Scan items and see who can eat what before anyone touches the buffet tongs.
Catered events — Planning a corporate lunch? Share the catering menu link with Recipe Intelligence and get a breakdown per attendee dietary need.
Dinner parties — Check your planned menu against all guests before you even start cooking.
Tips for Circle Admins
- Ask members to keep their profiles up to date — Safe Circles is only as accurate as the data inside.
- Use the Temporary Guests feature for one-off visitors who don't have Purelyst accounts.
- Long-press a scan in history to share it with the circle.
Safe Circles are part of the Family plan, which covers up to 6 members in one circle on a single subscription — and it's free for the people you add. Both plans start with a 7-day free trial, so you can set up your whole circle before you're ever charged.
